Important Passport Note:

You will need a passport valid for at least 6 months from date of travel to be able to enter Honduras from the United States. For other countries, please check with your consulate, or look at the links posted under our page "Travel Planning".

 

1. How Much Do I Need to Put Down for Deposit?

To hold your reservation, a 50% deposit of base rate plus tax is required. The remaining 50% plus security deposit is due within 30 days of your check-in date.

2. How Do I Make a Deposit for the Unit I Want?

For the units of Life's a Beach, Paradise Cove Bungalow, Sea Breeze Beach House, Coral Bungalow, The Boat House, Lazy Daze and Pelican's Nest:

We can take your deposit via PayPal, a check sent to our USA address of a wire transfer to our USA bank.

For all other units (Las Brisis, Tropico Vista Tranquila, Taylor Beach House, Slumberland Villas, Paradise Cove Villa, Red Cliff Condominiums, Paradise Regained, Sandy Bay Beach House, The Round House, and Oyster Lagoon Houses):

The owners of the houses will be taking your payment directly, via PayPal to their account, or will accept US checks to a US address. Once we have a hold for you on these units, you will get detailed information from the owners about how to make payment. For these units, do NOT use our PayPal site. Also, for the other units, some of the security amounts, payment due times, and cancellation policies may vary from what is written below, as described on the page for those properties. If you have any questions, we will help answer those before you make payment.

3. When Do I Send My Deposit?

Please do NOT send money until you have been asked to do so; as some of the owners of our units require payment directly to them instead of using the PayPal feature on our site. Also, we will send you the actual amount to deposit.

4. When Will I Get My Security Deposit Back?

Security deposits will generally be returned approximately 1 week after checkout, via PayPal or via check sent by mail, as determined by the clients request, but it can be up to 2 weeks or so depending on if we have issues with the units, email issues, or other unforeseen aspects of Caribbean life. We will get it back to you though!

Please Note: This means security deposits are NOT returned on the day of checkout, but rather after we have been able to come in for cleaning and full inspection/inventory of the unit. Please plan for this accordingly.

5. I Don't Like To Use Credit Cards on the Internet, What Are My Options?

No problem! We can accept wire transfers to our USA bank account and will accept personal checks sent to our USA address AND can also accept your personal check through PayPal.

6. Are There Fees If I Use My Credit Card with PayPal?

a) If booking with a credit card issued within the United States:

No - We will NOT charge you a fee.

PayPal does charge us and the owners fees to receive your payment (2.9% + .30 USD for each transaction). However, the owners that we collect payments for (Paradise Cove Bungalow, Sea Breeze Beach House, Coral Bungalow, and Pelican's Nest) have agreed to absorb this cost in their prices, so you will NOT be charged this fee when booking these units.

For all other properties (except Round House/Oyster Lagoon Beach House), the owners will usually pass on the 3% fee to you, and they will confirm that before you make payment. However, don't forget you can always use a USA check directly, allowing you to avoid this fee.

b) If booking with a credit card from Outside of the US:

YES - there will be a fee.

This is because PayPal charges an additional 1% fee on top of the normal fees. So, for all houses, including the ones that we collect monies for, this additional 1 % fee WILL be added to your total, even if we do not quote this in the original price (as we may not always know that you are using a card from outside the US). You will only get charged this if we get charged this.

c) Fees associated with Returning Security Deposits:

As noted above in #2, PayPal will charge us the same small fee (2.9% + .30) if we return your security deposit more than 60 days from when you make it. This comes to a few dollars ($4.65 off of $150 USD). However, if you want to avoid this small fee, just make your security deposit not more than 35 days from date of check-in. Then we will have time to return it, and you won't get a fee. We suggest to folks to make the security deposit in a separate transaction, but it is not necessary.

7. I've Read All the Above, and You Have Told Me to Send Payment. Now What?

- If you are a PayPal member:

Just log on to your PayPal account, and you can send payment to payments@destinationutila - The account will be under "Blue Wave Group".

- If you are NOT a PayPal member:

No problem. You can just click on the link below and you will be walked through the steps.

Please remember: Payments can be made securely on OUR site with your credit card or check by using PayPal for rentals of Paradise Cove Bungalow, Coral Bungalow, Sea Breeze Beach House and Pelican's Nest ONLY. (As noted above, we will send you payment instructions for the other properties.)
